Nordax Files Patent for the Entity Trust Protocol (NETP)
We've filed a provisional patent for the Nordax Entity Trust Protocol, the verification and trust-scoring framework that underpins every entity on our platform.
Today we're announcing that Nordax Digital has filed a provisional patent application for the Nordax Entity Trust Protocol (NETP) - the verification, scoring, and trust-signaling framework at the core of every entity profile on Nordax AI.
The filing, Application No. 64/002,246, covers the methods, systems, and processes that power how we verify entities, compute trust signals, and deliver machine-readable identity data to AI systems, LLMs, and knowledge graphs.
What Is the Nordax Entity Trust Protocol?
NETP is the proprietary framework that governs how entity identity is verified, scored, and distributed across the Nordax AI platform. It encompasses:
- Multi-layer trust verification - A graduated verification model that combines email confirmation, DNS domain control validation, cross-reference corroboration, and infrastructure-level verification to produce a confidence gradient for each entity.
- AI Visibility Scoring - A composite scoring system that evaluates entities across five machine-verifiable dimensions: discoverability, schema completeness, consistency, machine accessibility, and trust signals.
- Truth-enforced badge delivery - An embeddable trust seal system where badge imagery is dynamically validated against the entity's current verification state and tier. Mismatched or expired badges automatically degrade to reflect the entity's true status - preventing stale or fraudulent trust signals.
- Structured identity distribution - Canonical JSON-LD endpoints, public API surfaces, and CDN-delivered trust artifacts that make verified entity data consumable by AI crawlers, search engines, and third-party systems.
Why File a Patent?
The AI infrastructure layer is moving fast. Every major platform - from Google to OpenAI to Anthropic - is building systems that consume, evaluate, and surface entity data. The question of who entities are and how much to trust them is becoming a critical input to AI decision-making.
We built NETP because no one else had built a verification framework designed specifically for how AI systems consume trust. Existing approaches - directory listings, review aggregators, basic schema markup - were built for humans browsing the web. NETP is built for machines reading structured data.
Filing this patent protects the specific methods and systems we've developed while we continue to build. It ensures that the trust infrastructure we're investing in remains ours to develop, improve, and offer to the businesses that rely on it.
What This Means for Entities on Our Platform
If you have an entity profile on Nordax AI, your profile is already protected by NETP. Every verification step you've completed, every trust signal we generate, and every badge delivered through our CDN operates under this protocol.
Going forward, you'll see the NETP trust badge - it indicates your entity is verified and protected by the Nordax Entity Trust Protocol. It appears on your entity profile page, and it's embeddable on your own website via our CDN:

The NETP badge is truth-enforced. It only renders for entities with a paid tier in good standing. If an entity's status changes, the badge automatically reflects reality.
What's Next
This provisional filing is the first step. Over the coming months, we'll continue developing and refining NETP as we expand entity coverage, deepen verification methods, and build new trust signals that AI systems can consume.
We'll also be publishing technical documentation on how NETP works - from the scoring algorithms to the badge delivery pipeline - so that entities and developers can understand exactly what's behind their trust signals.
If you're a business that hasn't claimed your entity yet, now is the time. Every entity on Nordax AI benefits from NETP's trust framework - and the earlier you verify, the stronger your position when AI systems decide who to recommend.
